Halloween Jigglers

What's Halloween without some rubber bats and spiders? Boring, that's what!  These jigglers (technically, the bat doesn't jiggle, but he falls in the same class) were made in Hong Kong and date to the 1970's.  First up is this green bat which is one I hadn't seen before finding this one.  Image Googling him didn't provide any matches.

This spider still has all of his long legs and has a great jiggly feel to it.  Great for scaring kids and adults. He has a strand of elastic string attached to him to allow you to hang it, but the strings tend to dry rot after 50 years, so I'll just leave him here.

  1. I remember having a spider like that as a kid. I remember how cool those legs felt when I ran my hand along them.

    1. You've clearly never stepped on one in the shower in the dark.

  3. Golly - I can STILL remember how these things felt when you held them! So weird to keep that memory so long.

    1. Nice! I'd love to have some of the vintage monster and superhero ones. I used to scoff at them as a kid because I thought they looked silly, but now I'd buy them.

    2. That's great. I loved them as a kid too. I bought loads of them on eBa and at garage sales about 10 years ago. It was such a hobby that I even made a book of over 200 pages. After I finished making the book, my collecting hobby calmed down, though.
