Thanksgiving Wisdom

This was among the stack of children's magazines I acquired a few months ago.  The same stack as the Jack and Jill from October.

This is Wee Wisdom, November 1947 issue.  The cover shows the gang coming over for a game of football (or possibly picking the boy up) while the neighbor's dog looks on.



A poem entitled Grandma's Thanksgiving smacks of "over the river and through the woods".



And here's an example of one of those confounding "How to Draw" progressions.  The first to second panel was always easy, then they hit you with an major jump in panel 3 and you just quit when you saw panel 4.

It reminded me of the January 13th, 2008 Pearls Before Swine strip by Stephan Pastis in which he parodies Slylock Fox.  See the "How to Draw Pig" panel:
