Stork Club, Quebec 1959

Another slide from my recent find.

Not to be confused with the famous New York night club of the same name but no relation, this Quebec location appears to have converted to a discotheque named Oz by the 1970's.  The only reference I could find for it was in this article.

  1. i wish there were photos of the inside, either of the Stork Club days, or the Oz disco days! and now i have to wonder: is the Dinty Moore Club referenced in that link the same Dinty Moore whose questionable cans of shuddery, craptacular food grace our supermarket shelves?

Doing a little reading leads me to believe no, but the Quebec location *is* known for comfort foods, particularly corned beef and cabbage, so it almost seems too coincidental.

    2. wow, so i did some searching, and who knew there were so many Dinty Moores in the world? i couldn't find any definitive answer as to the origin of the canned food. i suspect it was tied to the comic strip (or the restaurant??), but who knows.
