Frankly, I didn't expect to find such an unintenionally freaky story in a Dick and Jane book, but here it is. From 1963, it's "The New Guess Who". Enjoy.
This is crazy! I assumed it must be a parody book, like "Dick and Jane and Vampires." But it's a real Dick and Jane reader from 1962, featuring scary Halloween masks. And it also has nothing to do with the rock band that formed a few years later. I'm totally going to track one of these down.
