Now, I know some of you may argue that today's entry may not qualify as Halloween or horror related. I would counter, first of all, that Snoopy is very Halloween related, given "It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown" in which he makes a memorable appearance as a World War I flying ace battling the Red Baron. I would then add, that not only is today's entry Snoopy, it's a Hitler-mustachioed, Iron cross-bearing, masked, alternate universe Snoopy in which he was born in Germany under the Kaiser's watch and now fights for the other side. How's that for horror?
He rides a bomb, presumably whose coordinates are set for the allied front line.
Almost looks like he intended to make a Blue Meanie from Yellow Submarine and ran out of paint. AAUGH!
ReplyDeleteI'm going to be generous and say that the Hitler moustache might be an attempt at a British air-man moustache, and the Iron Cross might just be supposed to be a yoke, but it does look a bit dubious!
ReplyDeleteThat's a mighty fine Snoppy! it kind of looks to me like the iron cross is some sort of steering wheel, because he's holding it. the Hitler mustache, though, i have no idea. it can't be much else. and why BLUE, anyway? so many questions for Mom!
ReplyDeleteLooking at the photos again, I just noticed there's a lighter blue line coming around his neck to the cross. Now I'm almost certain it's supposed to be an iron cross medal on a ribbon around his neck.
DeleteThe sentiment is sweet, but it is a bit unnerving.
ReplyDeleteAnd that's an accomplishment. "Sweet" and "unnerving" don't often appear together.
DeleteI dunno. Even fascists have moms....
ReplyDeleteSo true, Don.
DeleteI Love Snoopy !
