Fun to Cook Book

This book printed in 1970 by Carnation reminds me that the 70's didn't happen overnight.  The art in this book could easily be from the '50's or '60's.

    "Put on a apron to keep your dress clean" that is a throwback to the fifties and early sixties. By 1970, woman were definitely wearing some slacks.

      Well, if you'll notice, the girl is wearing some psychedelic slacks under the apron, so there's that. Take that 1950's and gender stereotyping!

    the illustrations on the "First Day In The Kitchen" spread look Richard Scarry-ish to me. love this book. what a great find!
