For the Love of Pete - Day 4

In case you're just joining (ah, who am I kidding. Hello? Anyone out there?), I've been showcasing Valentine's sent to Peter Blank, a teacher from Freeburg, Illinois in the 1930's and '40's.

I'm not sure of the intended reference of "call me down". Maybe it means call me down for a date? Google offers "calling someone down" as meaning to reprimand or "bawl out": "The teacher had to call down Sally in front of the whole class." I'm not sure that's what the kid that sent this Valentine intended.
