Santa Claus in Toyland

This book is from 1951 and has seen better days, but still some cute (and terrifying) illustrations inside.  There are various wheels to turn and tabs to pull inside for real Christmas action.

When pulled just right, Santa becomes a zombie.

I showed this to my daughter and she told me I ruined her childhood.

 

  

Given the line above, I supposed the pictures are supposed to go in the reverse order that I've posted them, but if you look at Santa's expression, going in reverse takes him from excited to quite frankly bored.

There was a dial indicator on this originally.  Moving the wheel and pointing the indicator at different locations opens a different window above the basket displaying the appropriate toy.
