That Voodoo You Do

While this game was incomplete, I decided to buy it for the box art alone. It makes for a good Halloween display piece.

Set up for this game involves some rubber bands and a triggering mechanism.  Rubber bands hold the witch doctor under tension in his hut.

A mechanism under the base is tied into the rubber bands that hold the Witch Doctor.

Before play begins, each player secretly places a small metal post inside one of the holes.  These become the trigger holes.

Gameplay involves each player placing a pin in the little girl (?).

When a player places a pin in one of the loaded holes, the Witch Doctor rushes out of his hut and the player is eliminated.

Unfortunately, I'm missing some pieces (including the triggering pins) that prevent proper game play.  But it still makes a nice prop for Halloween.

Voodoo Doll Game (for boys and girls!) is made by Schaper, best known for their "Cootie" game, and dates from 1967.

Schaper was founded in 1949 by William Schaper, a Minnesota postal worker who came up with the idea of Cootie while whittling a fishing lure.  The Schaper company developed such games as "Don't Break the Ice", "Ants in the Pants" and "Super Toe".  Beginning in the 1980's, the company went through a series of buyouts.  It is currently owned by Milton Bradley.

  3. wow, what a great find. like Cootie, Don't Break The Ice, and Ants in the Pants, it's so simple, but visually unique. I know i had the other three games when i was a kid, but i don't remember this one at all. fun idea for a game. maybe you could figure out how to 3D print the missing parts?
