This 1995 Mummy mask by Cesar was a find from over the summer. It dates from 1995 which doesn't sound that long ago, but is 31 years old now. The rubber has held up well, despite somebody cutting up the back to make the opening wider.
The mask cost $12.99 originally which translates to about $29 in today's dollar, so it wasn't a cheap mask, although decent masks these days run $60 and higher.
This is NOT what I will be for Halloween this year, but gives you an idea of how it looks on a person.
Just add toilet paper and you're set!
I didn't realize they still made such things -- well, still made them 31 years (*gasp*) ago. It looks pretty good! All I remember about such masks is that they were hot and sweaty and made my glasses steam up, so I couldn't see a thing.
ReplyDeleteThe Wolf Man mask I bought for this year (a recast of a classic Don Post mask) is so tight, I can't wear it for more than a minute or two. But it looks good.
