I haven't done one of these since 2022 and frankly, I'm not really concerned with blog statistics anymore as we all know blogs are pretty much dead, not that that will stop me. But out of curiosity, I took a look.
I had over 231,000 views last month (of course, it's anyone's guess how many of those were bots).
My daily views peaked around October 23rd at around 18k.
Referrals came mainly from Google, although I was pleased to see referrals coming from fellow bloggers like Erik at Wonderful Wonderblog, Philly Radio Geek at Me and You and a Blog Named Boo, Deadpan Flook and his Blog of Stuff, Mayor Todd at Neatocoolville, Alexis' Treasures of 31 Days of Halloween and last but not least from the Countdown itself. To you my fellow bloggers, I thank you. I'm not sure about zenopusarchives. It's a D&D blog and I have done some posts about D&D, so it's possible, but I'm more dubious about brownstonebirder as I don't believe bird watchers and garage sales would crossover too much.
The vast majority of views came from the U.S., but I also had views from Canada, Europe, South America and Asia. Seriously, if you're in one of those countries, let me know who you are. I'd be interested in knowing my international audience.
This statistic used to make sense. No so much anymore.
Apparently, the top search strings that led people to my blog was a random string of characters and "the rest".

ReplyDeleteAnd don't say "blogs are dead" -- the truth is, they are so old that they have looped around and are rising in popularity again, at least from what I've heard. It's also wrapped up in the "support human-made stuff" vs "All A.I. stuff all the time" war. Keep fighting the good fight, Tom!
I thought a few years ago that blogs were making a comeback, kind of like vinyl, vhs and dvds, but it didn't seem to pan out. I hope you're right.
