No, not this one.
These:
These Eureka Halloween seals from 1961 feature artwork that is superior to other Eureka offerings I've seen on their various die cuts. This book of seals was originally priced at 19 cents and then discounted to 16 cents.
Eureka was a specialty printing company based in Scranton, Pennsylvania. Beyond that, there's not much information available online. I was already familiar with some of their die cuts (like these and this), but I couldn't find a definitive list of what they produced or for how long.
There is a Eureka company online that specializes in classroom supplies and decorations. They say they've been in business since the 1950's, so odds are it's the same company, although a 1924 newspaper article I found mentions the company as a manufacturer of "gummed paper" and "coupons for cigar compan[ies] and trading stamps" so their origins date back much further. Their "About" states they are the creators of the original "gold star", that coveted reward for schoolwork well done.
wow, these really are nice. the cat and jack o'lantern and the witch and vulture are especially well done. and discounted a whole 3¢, wow, who could say no?
ReplyDeleteYou'd be crazy NOT to buy them!
DeleteOh I remember those in school! This is an amazing find brought back some fun memories.
ReplyDeleteI loved getting stickers on my school work, though with my grades, that wasn't a common occurrence.
Deletelol same
DeleteThe art is so nice!
ReplyDeleteArt like this is a lost...well...art.
DeleteI feel like that cat is trying to talk the jack o'lantern into something naughty, but the jack is thinking "I don't know about this." :)
ReplyDeleteThat cat's *ALWAYS* getting him in trouble.
DeleteWow these are very cool! TY for sharing them!
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome. Glad you enjoyed.
