I came across this little can of Red Devil lighter fluid in the garage of a recent sale. Looks like old Scratch is a bit of a fire bug.
He also has a feather in his...cap? I wonder what he did to earn that.
"To open child resistant spout, inserted pointed object under tip and lift to upright position."
Way to go, Red Devil. You just let every literate child know how to open your "child resistant" lid. And told them to play with pointed objects.
"Do not use near fire or flame. New York City Fire Department"
Use it near fire and flame in any other state you'd like.
"Wipe lighter and hands before igniting."
Perhaps they should clarify to not wipe them on your clothes.
This can probably dates from the 1980's or possibly later. There's not a lot of information on the Red Devil company on the internet other than it appears they were based in Cincinnati, Ohio and are now defunct.
LOL! Running out of Halloween items already? This one's a bit of a stretch.
ReplyDeleteTHURSDAY: Monster energy drink
FRIDAY: Witch Hazel astringent
SATURDAY: Black Cat fireworks
Yeah, it's been a rough year, but I still have some Halloween held back. I can't blow it all this early in the month.
DeleteOh, and those are excellent suggestions. I've made a note. :)
Delete"Do not sell to children" -- PROTIP!
ReplyDeleteAdults: "I'll use this to refill my lighter."
DeleteKids: "I'll use this to set a deadly fire trap for my GI Joe."
I ask you, who has the better idea?
That's a fun graphic. Looks a bit like the Guy Fawkes mask.
ReplyDeleteYou're right, I didn't catch that, but it does.
