For Amber Waves of Grain

More photos from the lot.  These two young ladies appear to be embracing shocks of wheat.

They remind me of the Kellogg's "Sweetheart of the Corn" ads.

While this ad predates the photos (not sure how long that campaign continued, but it appears to have begun in 1906 and continued well into the 40's), it would have been a well-known image of the era, so you have to wonder if they weren't purposely recreating the pose.

  1. This reminds me of a photo I came across about a decade ago of a toddler in a haystack: http://www.papergreat.com/2013/10/heres-uncle-willie-from-hartley-just.html

    1. Great photo, Chris. I'm guessing Uncle Willie was pretty itchy by the end of that photo shoot.
