American Home, April, 1967

Time for another best of American Home magazine (for active young homemakers).  This one dates from April 1967.  Not a lot to say, just enjoy the pictures.

The text is cut on this picture, but it's an ad for luxurious wood paneling.

I loved home movie night.

How mad do you think Hoover's and Armstrong's ad agencies were when they saw each others' ads?

I don't know what kind of freaky varicose veins those are, but they kind of remind of when those mutants peeled off their false faces in "Beneath the Planet of the Apes".

That freaked me out as a kid.  There's gotta be Traumafession about that on Kindertrauma.  Yep.

These look really good.  I'm going to have to give them a shot.

  1. now that we're seeing more of this magazine, i am starting to suspect that the demographic for this was whatever hipsters were called in 1967: young, stylish people who were just settling down and getting their own places. i'm liking this. am i the only one surprised to see a bidet in an ad in 1967? also, kudos on the planet of the apes reference. definitely one of the finer reveals in those movies. and i'm with you -- those choco-scotch clusters sound pretty delish.

Well, it is for "active young homemakers".

Good, because I have quite a few of them.

No, I was too and meant to mention it.

Yes they do. If you beat me to making them, let me know how they are.
