I was scanning this season's decorations around my home and came across this tray. Surely, I thought, surely I've posted this tray before. I hadn't.
I found this tray several years ago at an estate sale for $5. I loved the design and artwork. Two martini-drinking ghosts? Why not? Those owls have seen things.
This "Friendly Spirits" tray is marked "Social Supper Trays" and was made by The American Art Works, Inc. of Coshocton, Ohio.
Apparently, there was a matching pitcher and tumblers that went with the tray. Unfortunately, they weren't at the sale.

American Art Works started out in 1895 as the Tuscarora Advertising Company before renaming in 1908. They were known for producing advertising and novelty trays including trays for Coca Cola. This tray dates from the 1950's or 60's. The factory was torn down in 1995.
Why don't you spirit on over to the Countdown and check out their midnight offerings.

Oh wow. This looks *very* Sloshy Social Hour Sixties. Alcohol-resistance a must for these trays. On the other hand it looks like American Art Works never changed any of its typography or logos after about 1930.
